The Snow Emergency Map automatically refreshes every 5 minutes. Entries are made by our team as information becomes available.
Snow Emergency data is derived from several sources, including but not limited to:
- Local Law Enforcement
- State Agencies
- Media Outlets
In Ohio, Snow Emergencies are classified as Level 1, 2 or 3. Not all counties use this system and is typically the responsibility of the county sheriff to determine whether a county participates in this system and when to issue an appropriate snow emergency level.
Ohio News and Weather® may use the “Road Hazards” selection for any county at our discretion if, in our opinion, travel conditions within that area are hazardous and the county has not declared a snow emergency level or does not participate in that program. We pass this information along only as an advisory and assume no responsibility for its accuracy.
