We continue to track the potential for severe weather across Ohio on Sunday, March 30, 2025. Overall the setup has not changed drastically from our initial thoughts yesterday, with a multi-mode severe weather threat expected. Damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes are all possible.

Severe Weather Setup
Rain and a few storms Sunday morning will gradually clear out. Behind it, mainly cloudy skies will persist but warm and moist air will be pumped into the region thanks to a brisk southwesterly flow. Winds could gust to 30 MPH at times during the late morning & early afternoon hours. Temperatures in the low to mid 70s are expected. Some sunny breaks are also possible at times. Any sun will help to provide additional fuel for storms.
An approaching cold front will already have a line of storms along it as it approaches Ohio sometime around 4 PM. Ahead of it, a few storms may develop. These storms may be discrete and could contain large hail and perhaps a tornado or two. This is a very conditional threat as much of this will largely depend on how the atmosphere recovers behind the morning rainfall. The storms along the cold front will already be well established and will largely pose a damaging wind threat, although a few brief tornadoes are possible, generally along and west of I-75.

Storms will continue to move through the state into the overnight hours. Severe storms will remain possible during this time thanks to plenty of wind shear aloft and enough instability to sustain severe storms. Over time, these will diminish and rain across Southern OH will persist into early Monday morning. It may be heavy enough for some localized flooding in spots.
